Meet Justin and Kristen Raymer and their children, Fiona and Whitaker:

During June, we have the opportunity to donate a love offering for the Justin and Kristen Raymer family who begin their missionary work this summer with the Alagwa people of Tanzania, Africa.   If you were privileged to meet this family you experienced what one congregational couple said, "I was so impressed with their passion for God's work and the immense potential to spread Christianity to those unreached."   m10242 tz

Justin is a 1998 graduate of West Rowan and a graduate of N. C. State University with a degree in Agriculture Engineering.  Kristen is a 2001 graduate of West Rowan and a graduate of Catawba College with a degree on Elementary Education.  They grew up attending Thyatira Presbyterian Church.  Currently, they are members of South River UMC.

Justin and Kristen Raymer are appointed with Africa Inland Mission and plan to leave in July 2017 for central Tanzania to live and serve amongst an un-reached Islamic people group using their gifting in Education and Agriculture.  There are approximately 300 million Africans yet to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Africa Inland Mission seeks to plant Christ-Centered Churches among all African Peoples, with a priority for the unreached.  In addition to ministering through farming and education, Justin and Kristen will be working with their ministry team from Africa Inland Church Tanzania and Africa Inland Mission to translate Holy Scripture into the local language, for the first time.  This will be accompanied in partnership with Wycliffe Bible translators (SIL).   Justin and Kristen have two children Fiona (9) and Whitaker (6), and have lived in Rowan County, NC their entire life.

They have many friends in the community and our congregation.  They spoke to Men in Mission at their breakfast on April 2, 2017 and the Don Overcash Sunday School Class.  They attended worship service on that day.  Kristen also spoke at Sisters of Grace Circle Meeting.
